Seasonal Felicatations !!

This month is another great month for planting in coastal San Diego County.  Those of you who planted last month should be seeing healthy peas and lettuce, beets just starting and some holdovers such as green beans and the end of tomatoes.

The rain was wonderful, everything dusted off and special effects on those lawns over seeded with winter rye. Our “official ” rain gauge here just over the top of FMD registered 1.6″ for the two nights of rain. More please!!!

Charles Ledgerwood recommended BEETS, BRUSSEL SPROUTS, CABAGGE, CARROTS, celery, BROCCOLI, CAULIFLOWER, COLLARDS, ENDIVE, FAVAS, KALE, KOHL RABI, LEEK, LETTUCE, ONION, PARSELY, PARSNIPS, PEAS, RADISH, RUTABAGA, MUSTARD, SPINACH, TURNIPS and SWISS CHARD for December.

Most of these crops can be planted sequentially, every two to three weeks and will continue to produce until late March.

Fall flower planting are the same as for October and November.
